Things about Dad

IMG_7447This post is by Little Miss 3.  Since it’s Father’s Day I asked her about her Dad.

“My Daddy is really helpful and he carries me all the time.  He swings my brother up really high.  He’s really big-strong.  He fixes stuff and I watch him.  My Daddy, um, sometimes cuts the leaves off the trees in the garden.  He puts them in the truck (ute) and takes them to the dump.  Daddy buys things all the time!  My Daddy plays with me and that makes him really absolutely cool.  I love it when we play my caterpillar game.  And Mummy, that’s all the things about Dad, ok?!”

Have you asked your kids what they think about their Daddy…?  Happy Father’s Day Dads!!

We do every year. We have a collection of ‘Dad’ books. each fathers day or whenever they are given I write in the front cover.

    This years reads
    he reads books to me
and sings songs to me when I go to bed
he has a cup of tea
    um
he plays with me so I kick him on the swing
    he cuts the tree
    he goes on the computer
    Love Zoe.

I love putting down word for word what she says, I have no idea where the cup of tea bit came from, he likes tea but they dont have one together.

Gorgeous! I recently did this for my neice and nephew (my son’s cousins whom he adores) and he just came up with the loveliest, funniest things about them.
Little Miss 3′s Dad sounds like lots of fun! :-)

  3. Lovely idea to ask your daughter.

Happy Fathers Day to him and all aussie dads!

Gorgeous words from an obviously adoring babe. lovely idea for a short post. xx

  5. I wish that I had noted down more things like this when the children were younger. These words are worth more than any present I think.
