Moments for Mum Giveaway!
WINNER ANNOUNCED!
Congratulations to Gail who has won a signed copy of Narelle’s devotional book Moments for Mum. It was quite tricky to count the entries for this comp, but we had 21 entries and the randomly chosen winning number was 19. Thanks to those who are now following this blog, or Narelle’s blog. Thanks also to everyone who shared Bible verses – I didn’t realise what an encouragement this would be to me!

“Busy” doesn’t begin to describe life as a mum. It’s a constant battle of competing priorities for my time, and my own needs rarely rate a mention. If I have ten minutes while the kids are busy with my hubby, chances are I’m jumping into the shower! I sometimes get to the end of the day and realise I haven’t spent any time with God at all. It should be one of my highest ranking priorities, but I’ll be the first to admit that I really struggle to set aside time to pray and read my Bible.
I know that using a devotional book is a helpful strategy for me, and this week a lovely package arrived in my letterbox. I purchased Moments for Mum – 61 Daily Devotions written by fellow Aussie blogger Narelle Nettelbeck, and she sent me an extra copy for me to give away to a SquiggleMum reader! She even signed it!! (Thanks Narelle.)
So far Moments for Mum has been a real encouragement to me. Each devotion is only one or two pages long, contains a bible verse to consider and is relevant to the crazy stage of life I’m in as a mother. Narelle writes openly and honestly about her joys and struggles, and her book is very easy to read. I’m just reading one devotion each day, when I put both kids into their rooms for quiet time after lunch. Before I race around doing whatever housework is begging to be done, before I open the emails demanding my attention, before I do anything (other than go to the loo), I’m going to have a cup of coffee and open Moments for Mum. I know that even a little bit of time spent with God has a big impact on my day.
Would you like to join me? There are a few ways you can enter to win your own copy of Moments for Mum. You can either:

PS – I know this giveaway won’t interest all of my readers, and that’s cool.

For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future – Jeremiah 29:11

So glad to have found Narelle’s lovely blog…. pleased to be a follower.
I am very glad to hear that you are taking time for yourself everyday. I wont enter, wouldn’t be fair I won the last one.
It is so hard to pick just one favourite bible verse. Here is one of my favourites:
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow, or reap or store away in barns and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable then they?
that is terribly paraphased… from Matthew (not sure of exact reference!)
Do i still qualify?
PS Love Kelly’s!
When things are going haywire and when things are going really well I come back to this scripture…
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.
Love it!

Matthew 13:32 (about the mustard seed)
It is the smallest of all seeds but when it grows up it is the biggest of plants. It becomes a tree,so that birds come and make their nests in its branches.
I’m already subscribed to your blog.

“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future” ~ Jeremiah 29:11
I know someone else already chose it but it is my favourite too

One of my favourite bible verses is 2 Sam 22:31-37, here’s the first part of this:
As for God, his way is perfect;
the word of the Lord is flawless.
He is a shield to all who take refuge in him.
And who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?
hmmm there are lots of great verses….which to choose????
Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength,an ever-present help in trouble.
Keeping it real…:)
Proverbs 11:22
Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.
Zephaniah 3:17
“The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing.”
Romans 10:8-10
“The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
I also have a few. But have chosen one – Phil 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in christ Jesus.
And for the kids! Ephesians 6:1 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.”
and can I sign up for your blog please. Not quite sure how – is saying here and now enough?!?
