Do You See What I See?

What do you see?  A mess of snipped junk mail, or something more?

It’s a pond, silly!

Here, I’ll help you:

Frog, rocks,

lily pads, fish,

dragonfly, reeds.

See?

A whole ecosystem!

(With night time stars reflected in the water…)

When I stop looking with grownup eyes and start looking with toddler eyes this beautiful creation comes to life.  It ceases to be a box full of junk mail and becomes the play world my daughter dreamed it to be.  Isn’t play a beautiful thing?

Come play at the Childhood 101 We Play link up…

  1. ‘It’s a pond, silly!’ I can almost hear Immy saying the same thing, except hers would be, ‘It’s a pond. You’re silly!’

I love Lily’s pond, there is just so much sharing of her knowledge and learning. Thank you for coming to play.

I love it!! Aren’t children just so creative when we let them use their imagination. It’s a pity so many lose it as they get older.

The simplest of things can teach us so much. I remember playing with sticks rocks and mud with my sister and having the best time ever because of the stories we made up as we went.
