Hi Cath! Thanks for stopping by at my page and ‘following’ me. I love this idea of bark painting. There is a park not far from my house where a few trees lose bark, so next time I’m down there I will definitely get some for my daughter to paint! I look forward to keeping up with your page.

I remember doing this when I was little. It’s a great art activity Catherine and I like your idea for putting out the paint. We use egg cartons too! No clean up = easy.

I remember doing this as a kid.

Also, my great grandmother used to make pictures out of bark. Really gorgeous ones. She hasn’t for a while now, but I might have to photograph some of her work.

@Nicole – I’ve done this with much older kids too, but since L was so interested in the bark I figured we might as well give it a go! And you’re right on the low cost front…

Great activity and very low cost too! Reminds me of when I was in year 7, we did a similar thing. A whole month of bark art, knowing now what I know about school budgets it was possibly our teachers way of making the art materials last longer.
