Adventure Through The Maze

Have you ever taken your children through a maze?

We recently explored this fantastic bamboo maze together:

Follow me! I’ll lead the way…

It’s definitely this way. Definitely. I think…

Hey! Come back. Wait for meeeee!!

Which way now?

Hooray!  We found the fairy in the middle of the maze.

Now how do we get out of here…?

We love mazes and fortunately on the Mornington Peninsula where my in-laws live there are several mazes to enjoy. We like to split up a bit (one of us obviously goes with Princess) and have races or try to find each other. Really great family fun :)

I’ve seen hay, corn, and hedge mazes, but never a bamboo one – how neat! I love that they put a fairy in the middle to find, too.

Wow what a cool looking place! We’ve only visited a maze once while on holidays in Victoria, but our eldest was too young to really enjoy it unfortunately. I would love to take both my girls back there now that they would be old enough to really enjoy it! I’ll have to do some Googling and see if we have any around here.

  8. MY girls love a maze too. We’ve even made a chalk one in the back yard – we give instructions to someone wearing a blindfold to help them navigate out! I wondered if you’d come and join our Play Academy on Fridays – love to swap ideas with you. Cathy

We have a similar maze in our nearby city. For a few homemade examples I blogged about labyrinths a couple of months ago http://creativestarlearning.blogspot.com/2010/07/maze-ing-labyrinths-at-coombs-school.html

Looks great. I haven’t seen one of those mazes for ages. You’ve inspired me to go searching for a local one now!

  15. We recently enjoyed a Charlie and Lola episode about visiting a maze (and how not to get lost!) Immy has been talking about them ever since and I believe there is one not far from here so I must, must put it on our soon-to-do list.
